Mission Statement

The Pine Family Foundation was founded to help the much needed research toward the discovery of cures for Alzheimers and other catastrophic diseases.

To that end the founding members of the Foundation have pledged their time and resources to establishing this Foundation.

The prime goal of this Foundation is to provide funds in the form of grants and scholarships for research towards the cure of Alzheimers and other incurable diseases.

By providing research grants and education funding to specific individuals and institutions who study these diseases in pursuit of a cure, the Foundation hopes to help bring about an end to the tragic loss and suffering that occurs to the families, friends and especially the people affected by these diseases.

The Pine Family Foundation was established under the laws of the State of Texas as a nonprofit corporation under Section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code and under Section 501(c)(3). Any donations made to the Foundation are tax deductible.

Use of Funds

The Board of Directors of the Foundation has established an account to provide a stream of income to fund the research grants and scholarships.
100% of the income provided from this account is distributed to the recipients of the grants and scholarships. The recipients must qualify for the funds as follows:

  • 95% of the grant money must go directly to research.
  • The program being funded will be supervised by an oversight monitor.
  • Any student receiving a scholarship must be engaged directly in an ongoing research program.
  • All applicants must submit, in writing, requests for funding and agree to provide a full financial review to the Board of Directors.

Foundation History

The Pine Family Foundation was established by Ray Pine in 1994. Ray became interested in Alzheimers when his sister-in-law was diagnosed with the disease.
While trying to learn more about the disease, he discovered that research for Alzheimers had lost ground over the last several years.

Ray felt that something had to be done to help this research so with the help of his family and friends he was able to secure sufficient capital to get the Foundation off to a good start.

Ray and his family believe that with the help of everyone it will be possible to discover cures for "incurable" diseases such as Alzheimers. We all believe that if we use the talents and abilities that God gave us that we can move mountains.

While the immediate goal of the Foundation is Alzheimers, other diseases will also be included as time and money allow.
